Fresh off winning his maiden Grand Slam title at the French Open, Alexander Zverev has booked a place in his first Wimbledon<\/a> final after defeating British wildcard Arthur Fery 7-6 (7-0), 6-2, 6-4 on Friday.The German admitted Wimbledon had always been his toughest Grand Slam but is now just one win away from lifting the trophy.\u201cThis Grand Slam has always been the one that I struggled with the most and all of a sudden I\u2019m in the final of Wimbledon,\u201d the 29-year-old said. \u201cWe got one more match to go on Sunday and that\u2019s what the focus is on.\u201dZverev, who claimed his maiden major title at Roland Garros last month, will face either defending champion Jannik Sinner or seven-time Wimbledon winner Novak Djokovic<\/a> in Sunday’s final. He said he is confident despite the challenge ahead.\u201cIt\u2019s not going to be easy no matter who it is against,\u201d Zverev said. \u201cBut I have to trust myself and I have to believe that I can win and that\u2019s what I\u2019m going to do.\u201dThe victory also made Zverev the first German man to reach the Wimbledon final since Boris Becker in 1995.Despite ending Arthur Fery’s dream run, Zverev praised the British wildcard and predicted a bright future for the 114th-ranked player.\u201cI think this was just the beginning of his career and I really think that he\u2019s going to do amazing things in this sport,\u201d he said.Zverev also applauded the Wimbledon spectators, who strongly backed the home favourite throughout the match.\u201cI know that 99.99% of the stadium was wanting Arthur to win. But it was still such an incredible atmosphere. It was such a fair crowd as well,\u201d Zverev said. \u201cA lot of crowds in the world can take an example of this crowd. It\u2019s one of the best crowds to play tennis in front of.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
