<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nPune:<\/span> Himachal Pradesh governor Kavinder Gupta visited MIT World Peace University on July 5th and held discussions with the university\u2019s academic leadership.The discussions ranged from higher education and leadership development, to student transformation initiatives. Speaking during the visit, Gupta said, \u201cQuality education must go beyond classroom learning and focus on building character, discipline and emotional strength\u201d.Referring to the university\u2019s Life Transformation Centre at Boribel in Daund, he said \u201cSuch models address aspects of education that are often overlooked in conventional academic programmes. It focuses on developing qualities that are equally important as academic excellence. Students from Himachal Pradesh should also have the opportunity to experience such a transformative programme,\u201d. He also observed the university\u2019s School of Government programme and said, \u201cProgrammes that prepare ethical and capable public leaders are relevant in today\u2019s changing governance landscape.\u201dAs Chancellor of all state universities in Himachal Pradesh, Gupta said he would explore collaboration between universities in the state and MIT-WPU in areas such as research, innovation, governance education and student development programmes. \u201cHolistic development of students, alongside academic excellence, remains my sacred responsibility as chancellor of state universities in Himachal Pradesh,\u201d he added.Managing Trustee and Executive President Rahul V Karad said, \u201cThis institution believes in developing well-rounded individuals and is eager to collaborate with Himachal Pradesh in expanding the educational opportunities\u201d.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
