<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nNEW DELHI: Rain lashed parts of Delhi in the early hours of Thursday, extending the monsoon spell in the national capital and bringing relief from the recent humid conditions.The India Meteorological Department<\/a> (IMD) has issued an ‘orange’ alert for Delhi, forecasting heavy rainfall across the region through most of the day.The continuous rainfall led to waterlogging in several parts of the city, including New Delhi Railway Station, Munirka and other areas.According to the IMD, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is likely over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and west Uttar Pradesh until July 10.A fresh spell of rain is expected to continue over northeast Uttar Pradesh till July 13, while east Rajasthan is likely to witness similar weather activity on July 9.The ongoing rainfall is expected to provide relief from the humid weather that residents have been experiencing in recent days.The temperature was recorded at around 25.8 degrees celsius at 2.30 am, with calm winds.On Wednesday, a significant monsoon spell swept across north India, bringing respite from the sweltering heat.In Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, overnight heavy rainfall caused extensive waterlogging, disrupting vehicular and pedestrian movement.Meanwhile, heavy rainfall was also reported in Rajasthan. In Dungarpur, overnight rain accompanied by thunder and lightning led to flooding and waterlogging in several localities, with water levels rising above three feet in parts of the old city, including Ghati, Kanera Pol, Mochi Bazar and Bhoiwada.(With inputs from ANI)<\/div>\n
