<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nNEW DELHI: A fresh spell of rain lashed parts of Delhi NCR on Tuesday afternoon, bringing much-needed relief from the sweltering heat and oppressive humidity that had gripped the city over the past few days.The India Meteorological Department<\/a> (IMD) has issued a yellow alert and forecast more moderate showers through the day, with the wet spell likely to continue over the next few days.Delhi woke up to a warm and humid morning, with the minimum temperature settling at 30 degrees Celsius, 2.1 notches above normal.It was the highest minimum temperature recorded in July since July 2, 2024, when the mercury had touched 30.7 degrees Celsius.Despite the rain, humidity remained high. At 8.30 am, the IMD said the ‘feels-like’ temperature was 44.7 degrees Celsius, with relative humidity at 79 per cent.The weather office has forecast a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain during the day.The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 36 degrees Celsius.Among the city’s weather stations, Lodhi Road recorded a minimum of 30.4 degrees Celsius, while Palam registered 28.3 degrees Celsius, Ayanagar 28.6 degrees Celsius, and the Ridge recorded 24.9 degrees Celsius.The Ridge was the only observatory to receive measurable rainfall in the 24 hours ending at 8.30 am, recording 6.4 mm, while Safdarjung, Palam, Lodhi Road and Ayanagar did not receive any rain during the period.The fresh showers come a day after Delhi endured hot and humid conditions, with the heat index, or ‘feels-like’ temperature, soaring to 49.1 degrees Celsius on Monday afternoon despite the maximum temperature remaining at 38.6 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal.The IMD has indicated that light to moderate rainfall is likely to continue over Delhi till July 10, offering some respite from the prevailing humid weather.Meanwhile, Delhi’s air quality remained in the ‘moderate’category on Tuesday morning, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) standing at 110 at 9 am, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).<\/div>\n
