<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\nNew Delhi: A departmental inquiry has been initiated against eight Delhi Police<\/a> personnel, including four inspectors, over allegations of collusion with a drug trafficker and shielding a head constable linked to the case.The case dates back to 2024, when a woman was arrested in North Delhi<\/a>\u2019s Majnu Ka Tila area, and heroin was seized from her possession, police sources said. Head constable Amit Bhati\u2019s alleged links to the accused had surfaced during the investigation. However, despite the allegations, he was not named as an accused in the chargesheet.The omission came to light during the trial. Following the court\u2019s observations, the investigation was reopened and a supplementary chargesheet was filed naming Bhati as an accused.Subsequently, an internal inquiry was ordered into the role of the investigating officers and supervisory officials, sources said. The inquiry reportedly found lapses in the investigation and raised questions regarding the head constable being deliberately shielded.Based on the preliminary findings, the eight personnel were transferred to the Third Battalion on July 4. The departmental inquiry seeks to ascertain whether there was misconduct, negligence or deliberate collusion in the handling of the narcotics case.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
