Norton added, \u201cThere was a lot of pre-existing comfort and trust,\u201d further sharing that they had all worked with one another before and were well aware of how the other actor was on set. \u201cIt would never, ever have had that arc if it had been shot out of sequence. We would have been much more cautious. The official synopsis reads, \u201cJoe and Angela’s marriage is on thin ice. When they invite their enigmatic upstairs neighbours for a dinner party, the night spirals into unexpected places. Have they reignited the spark or lit the match that burns it all down?\u201dIn addition to Edward Norton and Olivia Wilde, the film also stars Seth Rogen<\/a> and Pen\u00e9lope Cruz in the leading roles. The film is a remake of a popular Spanish film, \u2018The People Upstairs,\u2019 which was an adaptation of Cesc Gay’s stage play \u2018Els ve\u00efns de dalt.\u2019 \u2018The Invite\u2019 was directed by Olivia Wilde, while Will McCormack and Rashida Jones worked on the screenplay.
