<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nNEW DELHI: The Delhi government on Saturday withdrew its recently announced two-day weekly work-from-home arrangement for government employees, saying the decision was taken as the geopolitical situation has “practically normalised”.According to the chief minister’s office (CMO), chief minister Rekha Gupta has approved the withdrawal of the work-from-home policy that had been introduced for Wednesdays and Saturdays. The formal order will be issued later in the day.The government has, however, retained staggered office timings with a revision for its own departments. Offices under the Government of National Capital Territory (GNCTD) will now function from 10 am to 6.30 pm, while the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will continue to operate from 8.30 am to 5 pm.The Delhi government had announced the work-from-home arrangement in May inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to conserve fuel and reduce dependence on imported energy amid tensions in West Asia.Under the earlier measures, all Delhi government departments, except essential services, were to implement work from home on Wednesdays and Saturdays.The government had also announced a 20% cut in fuel entitlement for official vehicles, restrictions on foreign visits by ministers and officials for one year, promotion of public transport, virtual meetings, and other fuel-saving initiatives.While the work-from-home order has now been withdrawn, the revised staggered office timings remain in place.(With inputs from ANI)<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
