(AI Image)<\/span><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Artificial Intelligence will become a part of classroom learning in all Punjab government schools from next month, with Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains on Thursday announcing the statewide rollout of an AI curriculum that has been under development for the past year as reported by PTI.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"2\"\/>The announcement was made at the &#8216;Bright Minds Punjab 2026&#8217; programme held at Guru Nanak Dev Bhawan, where Class 12 students who scored more than 95 percent in the Punjab Board examinations were felicitated. The event was attended by former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Education Secretary Sonali Giri, teachers, and students.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"5\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2 style=\"line-height:1.38;margin-top:18pt;margin-bottom:6pt;\">AI curriculum ready after year-long preparation<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"7\"\/>Addressing the gathering, Bains said the state government had spent the last year developing the Artificial Intelligence curriculum and was now prepared to introduce it across all government schools beginning next month.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"11\"\/>He said the initiative is aimed at ensuring that government school students are exposed to emerging technologies and develop skills that will become increasingly important in higher education and future careers.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"13\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2 style=\"line-height:1.38;margin-top:18pt;margin-bottom:6pt;\">Government seeks students&#8217; views on education reforms<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"15\"\/>Bains also said the programme marked the first occasion on which both the Education Minister and the Education Secretary directly interacted with students to understand their views on the examination system, school curriculum, and classroom teaching methods.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"18\"\/>According to the minister, the feedback received from students will be taken into account while shaping future education policies, giving learners a greater voice in reforms affecting the state&#8217;s education system.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"20\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2 style=\"line-height:1.38;margin-top:18pt;margin-bottom:6pt;\">High-achieving students honoured<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"22\"\/>The event recognised the academic achievements of Class 12 students who secured more than 95 per cent marks in the board examinations.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"24\"\/>Congratulating the students, Bains described them as the future of Punjab and the country. <!-- -->He expressed confidence that many of them would go on to serve the nation as civil servants, doctors, lawyers, and professionals in different fields.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"28\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2 style=\"line-height:1.38;margin-top:18pt;margin-bottom:6pt;\">Punjab claims top position in Education Index<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"30\"\/>Highlighting the state&#8217;s education progress, Bains said Punjab has secured the top position in the country&#8217;s Education Index. He credited the achievement to the collective efforts of teachers, students, and the government, stating that sustained reforms have strengthened the state&#8217;s school education system.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"33\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2 style=\"line-height:1.38;margin-top:18pt;margin-bottom:6pt;\">Manish Sisodia stresses the importance of AI education<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"35\"\/>Speaking at the event, former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the progress of any nation depends on the quality of its education system and emphasised that ensuring quality education for every child should remain the government&#8217;s foremost responsibility.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"37\"\/>He said Artificial Intelligence is expected to create new employment opportunities while transforming the nature of many existing jobs.
