Although the agency has not announced an exact date, a senior NTA official said the work is being carried out on a war footing to release the results at the earliest, ANI reported. The official also assured students that the delay caused by the re-examination will not affect the start of the MBBS academic session. The re-NEET UG examination was conducted on June 21 after the May 3 exam, taken by more than 20 lakh candidates, was cancelled over alleged paper leak allegations.“We would not like to give out any date as of now, but the result will be out by July 20. Normally, the results are announced within 45 days of the examination, but this time, as we have conducted the exam in 37 days, we will announce the results much earlier,” the official said. The provisional answer key was released on June 25, and candidates were allowed to raise objections till June 28. According to the official, around 10,000 challenges were submitted by aspirants. The agency is now reviewing every objection before preparing the final answer key and result.“We need to scan all the challenges one by one, examine the supporting evidence, and respond to each one of them,” the official added. The NTA also said that despite the re-examination, the MBBS academic session will begin on schedule. However, the counselling timetable has not yet been announced. After the NEET UG result is declared, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will release the counselling schedule for the 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ), AIIMS, JIPMER, central universities and deemed universities. State authorities will separately announce counselling schedules for the remaining 85 per cent state quota seats.During counselling, candidates have to register online, pay the counselling fee, and fill in their preferred colleges and courses. Seats are allotted based on NEET rank, category, reservation rules, preferences and seat availability. Candidates who receive a seat must report to their allotted college for document verification and admission. The counselling process is usually held in multiple rounds, including Round 1, Round 2, Mop-up Round and Stray Vacancy Round, before the new academic session begins.Meanwhile, some states, including Tamil Nadu, have already started preparatory admission processes while waiting for the NEET UG result.

Source link

Re-NEET UG result by July 20; academic session to begin on time: NTA official The National Testing Agency (NTA) has confirmed that the result of the re-NEET UG 2026 examination will be declared by July 20.
