<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nPUNE: The investigation into Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal’s murder has turned its focus to his mobile phone, with police probing whether crucial evidence was deleted or tampered with after his mobile phone remained in the possession of his fianc\u00e9e, Siya Goyal, for some time following his death.According to police, the investigation has revealed that Agarwal’s mobile phone came into Goyal’s possession after he was allegedly pushed off the cliff.“She later handed over the phone to his family. We are investigating whether any crucial evidence was deleted or tampered with while the phone was in her possession,” police said.Agarwal (25) was allegedly pushed off a cliff at Lohagad Fort in Pune district on June 18 by Goyal (20) and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary (22).The couple were engaged and were scheduled to marry in November.Both accused were arrested and are currently in police custody till July 3.While seeking an extension of their custody earlier this week, the prosecution informed the court that investigators wanted to determine whether Goyal had deleted or destroyed any evidence from Agarwal’s phone during the period it remained with her.As part of the investigation, Pune Rural Police on Wednesday took Chaudhary to Lohagad Fort and recreated the sequence of events surrounding the alleged murder.The police had conducted a similar crime scene reconstruction with Goyal on Sunday, during which a dummy was pushed off the cliff in her presence.Investigators had earlier told the court that they were also probing several other aspects of the case, including the alleged conspiracy, digital evidence and the exact sequence of events leading to Agarwal’s death.Police have also said that in his complaint, Agarwal’s father, Vishal Agarwal, alleged that his son had repeatedly expressed concern over Goyal’s closeness to Chaudhary and that she frequently mentioned him during their conversations.Investigators have further claimed that Goyal had earlier sabotaged the couple’s planned pre-wedding trip to Bali, Indonesia.Further investigation in the case is underway.(With PTI inputs)<\/div>\n
