Gumla:<\/span> A three-day \u2018Pulse Polio<\/a>\u2019 immunisation campaign under the \u2018National Immunisation Day\u2019 began across Gumla district on Sunday, targeting 1,49,570 children in the 0-5 age group.Launched under the National Health Mission and the district health and family welfare department, the drive aims to administer two drops of oral polio vaccine at all designated booths.Urging healthcare providers to visit every household and ensure that every eligible child is covered, deputy development commissioner (DDC) Animesh Ranjan said, \u201cPeople\u2019s participation has played a crucial role in eliminating polio from the country. However, the responsibility is not yet over. Even one unvaccinated child can pose a challenge to the fight against polio.\u201dAppealing to parents, he said, \u201cLet no child be missed. Let the protective shield remain intact.\u201dCivil surgeon Dr Shambhu Nath Chaudhary said, \u201cPolio is a disease that can only be prevented through timely administration of polio vaccine doses.\u201dDistrict immunisation officer Dr Sunil Ram said, \u201cA total of 1,198 teams and 119 supervisors have been deployed at 597 booths across the district.\u201dOn June 29 and 30, teams comprising sahiyas, ANMs, and other healthcare personnel will conduct door-to-door visits to vaccinate children.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
