<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\nNEW DELHI: A 32-year-old YouTuber has been arrested for allegedly targeting women riders and girls by deliberately crashing into their vehicles, stalking and harassing them, and uploading videos of the incidents on social media to gain popularity and earn through monetisation of views.Gurman Singh allegedly operated a page and a channel where he uploaded objectionable videos featuring these women riders and girls without their consent.The arrest followed a complaint lodged at the cyber police station in West district by a resident of Raja Garden. An FIR was registered under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Pocso Act<\/a>.According to police, the complainant alleged that on June 2, two unidentified men on a motorcycle intentionally rammed his minor daughters\u2019 scooter from behind before following them, making inappropriate remarks and using abusive language. A few days later, he found videos of his daughters uploaded on social media and on a webpage.During scrutiny of the social media accounts, investigators found that they primarily featured videos targeting women riders and minor girls. DCP (West) Hareshwar V Swami said a team led by inspector Vikas Buldak conducted digital and technical analysis before apprehending Singh, a resident of Subhash Nagar who is pursuing an open graduation course from Khalsa College.Police said Singh’s channel had around 21,000 followers and his page about 2.1 lakhs. He told police that he created these videos to increase his social media following, generate viral content and earn revenue through monetisation. He also allegedly said he deliberately targeted women riders to attract greater online engagement and for personal gratification.Police seized a mobile phone that allegedly contained access to social media accounts, along with videos, screenshots and other digital evidence. Action has been initiated to take down the alleged accounts, police said.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
