Severe heatwave conditions may continue in isolated parts of east Uttar Pradesh.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"5\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h3>IMD alert for Sunday<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p>According to the IMD, extremely heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, while Assam and Meghalaya are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rain.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"10\"\/>Heavy rainfall is also likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, Goa, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, north interior Karnataka, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Telangana.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"12\"\/>Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph are likely over Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, east Uttar Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Haryana, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, Goa, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Uttarakhand and west Rajasthan.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"15\"\/>The IMD has also forecast thundersqualls with wind speeds reaching 50-60 kmph over Jharkhand.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"17\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h3>Delhi-NCR weather tomorrow<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p>Delhi-NCR is likely to witness thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching up to 50 kmph on Sunday. Similar weather conditions are expected over parts of Haryana, Punjab and Uttarakhand.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"20\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h3>Northeast under rain watch<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p>Rainfall activity is expected to remain active across the northeast over the next few days. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Assam and Meghalaya, while Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are also under a heavy rain warning.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"24\"\/>Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim are likely to receive extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"26\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h3>Rain forecast for west and south India<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p>Konkan and Goa are likely to continue receiving heavy rainfall, while thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are expected over Konkan, Goa and parts of Maharashtra.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"29\"\/>Heavy rain is also likely over coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and north interior Karnataka.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"32\"\/>Additionally, the Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai has forecast heavy rain in 15 districts of Tamil Nadu as the southwest monsoon remains active. The districts include Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Ranipet, Tiruvannamalai, Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Theni, Dindigul, Madurai, Kanyakumari, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli and the ghat areas of Virudhunagar.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"34\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h3>East and central India forecast<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p>Heavy rainfall is likely over Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Odisha. <!-- -->Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also expected in several areas, while Jharkhand may witness thundersqualls with strong winds.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"39\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h3>Heatwave alert<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p>Despite the advancing southwest monsoon, heatwave conditions are likely over west Uttar Pradesh, while severe heatwave conditions are expected to continue in isolated parts of east Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. Hot and humid weather is also likely over Odisha.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"42\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h3><keyword id=\"28320324\" type=\"Denny\" weightage=\"20\" keywordseo=\"monsoon-update\" source=\"keywords\">Monsoon update<\/keyword><\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p>The northern limit of the southwest monsoon currently passes through Surat, Indore, Mandla, Daltonganj and Motihari.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"46\"\/>According to the IMD, conditions are favourable for the monsoon to advance into more parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, the remaining parts of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar, and some parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand during the next three to four days.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"48\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h3>IMD&#8217;s latest forecast for the next few days<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p>The weather office has indicated that widespread rainfall activity is likely to continue over the northeast, the west coast and several parts of peninsular India through early July.
