The 48-year-old lawyer, who has been with the \u2018Ocean\u2019s Eleven\u2019 actor since 2014, recently weighed in on what it felt like to always be in the spotlight, no matter what.<\/p>\n

The lawyer recently reflected on the repercussions of marrying someone with Clooney\u2019s status, mentioning how it used to be easier when she was not always in the spotlight. While speaking at the Cartier Dialogues event in Bangkok, the 48-year-old got candid about wishing to keep her career and personal life separate.The Daily Mail reported that she shared her experiences and added, \u201cIt was easier when I could decide what kind of exposure I got. It was something new to navigate.\u201dShe continued talking about the transition, mentioning that the entire thing was \u201ca weird phenomenon.\u201d She continued, \u201cI used to have my work life and my personal life, and they could look quite different, and I was able to not have them mix\u2026 and then I got married, and that changed quite a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the report, Clooney also added that at the very beginning of her and the \u2018Jay Kelly\u2019 actor\u2019s relationship, she was very conscious. She stated that she would think about how she should not be seen wearing something specific in front of a judge. She said, \u201cI can\u2019t be seen wearing this dress or doing this because I\u2019m in front of a judge on Monday, and I don\u2019t want the judge to\u2026 but you know it just doesn\u2019t matter as much as living your life.\u201dHowever, she persevered through the feeling, adding that \u201cUltimately, if you\u2019re good at what you do, that is going to shine through or not.\u201d Clooney also shared that she has never let such things stand in the way of what needs to be done for her family.<\/p>\n

The actor and the attorney have been married since 2014. The two of them had met a year prior, through a mutual friend whom Amal had accompanied to a party in Italy near Clooney\u2019s Lake Como house. The two stayed in contact and started dating.
