<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\nNew Delhi: The annual change in roster before Delhi High Court<\/a> reopens next week will see a new judge handling the sensitive MP\/MLA cases docket.Justice Manoj Jain has been assigned to hear criminal matters relating to serving and former members of Parliament and assemblies from July 1.The roster was earlier with a bench presided over by Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma, who has been assigned the civil side roster involving petitions dealing with DTC, Delhi Urban Arts Commission, RTI, sexual harassment at workplace, etc.The chief justice of the high court routinely makes the reshuffle after the summer vacation every year.During her time at the roster, Justice Sharma heard several cases against politicians, including an appeal in the excise policy case. In Feb, while issuing notice to all 23 accused, including former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal<\/a> and his deputy Manish Sisodia on CBI<\/a>\u2019s plea against their discharge, she had said the findings of the trial court at the stage of framing of charges prima facie appeared erroneous and needed consideration.She later dismissed their applications for her recusal, and in May, initiated criminal contempt proceedings against them for their \u201cvilifying\u201d social media posts and said the matter would be sent to another bench.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
