They help us rediscover hope and find strength when times are tough.<\/span><\/p>\n Let\u2019s explore a few stories that show how powerful a single good deed can be.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n True Beethe was only four years old when he needed heart surgery for a congenital heart defect. At the time, he was under the care of social services. When he arrived at Children’s Nebraska for the procedure, he had no one by his side.<\/span><\/p>\n Anesthesiologist Dr. Amy Beethe noticed he was all alone.<\/span><\/p>\n Despite already having six children of her own, she just decided to take in True.<\/a> Due to his medical condition, it was important for him to live in a stable, loving home.<\/span><\/p>\n “It didn’t take long to hear what was needed, and it just felt right,” said Ryan Beethe, Amy\u2019s husband.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n True was welcomed into the Beethe family. But the story takes an even more heartwarming turn. Amy also helped ensure that True\u2019s five siblings, who had been living in an unstable home environment, were adopted into loving families.<\/span><\/p>\n Now, the siblings are able to stay close and thrive together.<\/span><\/p>\n With a single decision, Beethe helped change six young lives for the better!<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span>Michael Collin served in the Army for 11 years, but at 26, he had to have his leg amputated to stop cancer from spreading.<\/span><\/p>\n Adapting to life after losing his ability to walk was a challenge for him.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n
