<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nNEW DELHI: Two men carrying Rs 1.5 crore in cash were robbed at gunpoint near Delhi\u2019s Zakhira Flyover earlier this month, with police saying the crime was facilitated by an employee of the victim company.Six people, including the employee, have been arrested in the case, while two juveniles have also been apprehended.The robbery took place on June 10 near the Zakhira Flyover in the Sarai Rohilla area. The complainant and his associate were transporting around Rs 1.5 crore in cash on a scooter when they were intercepted by motorcycle-borne assailants.One of the accused allegedly brandished a pistol, after which the assailants fled with two bags of cash, officials said.Investigators said the accused had carefully planned the robbery and used a motorcycle, a scooter and a car to execute the crime. Police reportedly cracked the said case after an intensive 11-day investigation involving multiple teams, news agency PTI reported.\u201cPolice analysed footage from nearly 500 CCTV cameras and tracked the movement of the suspects across multiple states,\u201d a senior police officer said.The breakthrough came after police identified the scooter used in the robbery. Two juveniles were apprehended, and their questioning led investigators to Viresh alias Veeru and Manpreet alias Twinkle.Further investigation revealed that Karan, an employee of the company whose cash was stolen, had allegedly leaked information about the movement of the money and shared its live location with the gang.\u201cKaran was accompanying the complainant at the time of the incident and was passing on details of the cash movement to the accused,\u201d the officer said.Police later arrested Karan, Manpreet and Manpreet\u2019s father, Charanjeet Singh, who was also part of the conspiracy, and cash of Rs 49.5 lakh was recovered from them.Subsequently, police identified two main accused, Vicky alias Ganja and Dhir Singh, both of whom have criminal records. The duo allegedly travelled through several states, including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir, to evade arrest.\u201cAfter a pursuit covering nearly 4,000 kilometres across eight states, police tracked them down and arrested them when they returned to Delhi on June 22,\u201d the officer said.Police said Rs 1.15 crore of the robbed amount has been recovered so far. The motorcycle and scooter used in the offence were also seized, along with mobile phones allegedly purchased using the looted money.Further investigation in this regard is currently underway, officials said.(With agency inputs)<\/div>\n
