State government data shows that digital transactions grew from around Rs 122 crore in 2017-18 to over Rs 1,024 crore during April\u2013December 2024, reflecting the widespread adoption of UPI and other electronic payment systems.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"115\"\/>A major driver of digital payments in UP has been the DBT ecosystem. This has enhanced transparency and reportedly saved thousands of crores by eliminating intermediaries.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"117\"\/>The widespread acceptance of UPI has transformed payments across urban and rural Uttar Pradesh.
