<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nNew Delhi:<\/span> In a bid to improve safety for women commuters in the early hours, the govt is planning to introduce Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus services from 4 am.Sharing the proposal, lieutenant governor TS Sandhu said several measures are being considered to enhance safety across the city. \u201cAs part of these efforts, we are working on a plan to launch early-morning bus services for women commuters, beginning at 4 am, with buses operating at one-hour intervals. Initially, these buses will be driven by women drivers and may also have women police personnel and marshals on board,\u201d he said.Delhi govt already offers free travel to women and transgender residents on DTC and cluster buses through the Pink Saheli Smart Card, which replaced the earlier paper-based ticket system.Sandhu also stressed strengthening the LG Listening Posts initiative. \u201cWhen we have portals in place, efforts should be made to improve monitoring and operations. I have asked the commissioner to encourage people to upload photographs of unauthorised construction so that genuine cases can be prioritised,\u201d he said.Referring to recent building collapses and fire incidents, the LG underlined accountability. \u201cResponsibility must be fixed. Authorities cannot evade accountability by claiming that an issue falls outside their jurisdiction,\u201d he said.\u201c<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
