Besides the actor, Ron Howard<\/a>, who directed the original live-action film, is also expected to return to helm the sequel and will produce alongside his longtime Imagine Entertainment partner, Brian Grazer, states a report on The Hollywood Reporter.The untitled project will reportedly have a screenplay from comedy writers Alec Berg, Jeff Schaffer and David Mandel. The trio previously collaborated on the 2003 Dr. Seuss<\/a> adaptation ‘The Cat in the Hat’, starring Mike Myers. Plot details for the sequel remain under wraps, and no release date has been announced.<\/p>\n Released just ahead of Thanksgiving in 2000, ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ proved to be a major box office hit, raking in over USD 260 million domestically. The film went on to become the highest-grossing movie in North America that year, and collected USD 345 million worldwide.
