Counsel for the residents said demolition was carried out Sunday despite an earlier assurance that no coercive steps would be taken while the issue of rehabilitation remained under consideration.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"11\"\/>The Centre\u2019s counsel argued the drive was in line with the high court\u2019s latest order and noted that a plea for a stay on coercive action had earlier been rejected.
