<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nNew Delhi: <\/span>About 10-15 patients were safely evacuated after a fire broke out in the electricity meter and panel of a five-storey private kidney hospital in southwest Delhi\u2019s Dabri on Sunday night.According to police, a PCR call regarding the fire was received at Sagarpur police station around 10.27pm. Simultaneously, Delhi Fire Service (DFS) also received information about the incident. Four fire tenders carrying 24 firefighters, along with nearly 15 police personnel, PCR vans and CATS ambulance teams, rushed to the spot.By the time emergency responders arrived, the blaze had been brought under control by hospital staff using fire extinguishers. Patients were evacuated by the hospital administration with assistance from security guards and residents.Police said security personnel deployed at the rear side of the hospital rushed to assist in the evacuation efforts. Residents also broke open a locked rear gate with a hammer to create an additional exit route and facilitate the evacuation of patients and staff. The fire was completely doused by 10.40pm. No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.According to a local resident, \u201cPeople were panicking and running around. The back gate was locked from inside. I rushed upstairs to get a hammer and handed it to other locals. They then broke open the door.\u201dPreliminary inquiry revealed the fire was caused by a short circuit in the electricity meter and panel, police said. Fire officials added that the affected junction box was located on the ground floor of the building. BSES officials were also called to the spot to assess the situation and ensure safety.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
