the Delhi government is developing a Road Asset Management System in collaboration with expert institutions to improve the maintenance of city roads.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"2\"\/>The government has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Central Road Research Institute (CSIR-CRRI) and the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) for the initiative, news agency PTI reported.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"5\"\/>Under the MoA, the CSIR-CRRI will provide technical support in areas such as road engineering, pavement technology, road safety and asset management, while the SPA will offer expert guidance on urban design, streetscape planning, public space development, urban landscaping and green infrastructure.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"9\"\/>In her statement, the CM said, \u201cTo address challenges such as increasing traffic, air pollution and waterlogging, road maintenance will now move beyond traditional methods and be carried out through a scientific and data-driven system.\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"11\"\/>\u201cThe system will create a digital record of roads, facilitate regular condition assessments and enable maintenance and repair planning based on priority,\u201d the CM added further.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"14\"\/>\u201cScientific green belts will be developed along roadsides, local plant species will be promoted, rainwater harvesting and stormwater drainage systems will be strengthened, and sustainable landscaping practices will be adopted to make roads greener, cleaner and more environmentally friendly,\u201d the statement quoted.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"16\"\/>According to a report by PTI, as part of the initiative, waterlogging issues will be addressed through improved road slopes and a redesigned stormwater drainage system.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"19\"\/>Delhi PWD Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh said the agreement marks a significant step towards developing the capital\u2019s road infrastructure in a modern, scientific and future-ready manner.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"21\"\/>Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said the government is undertaking large-scale measures to reduce dust pollution through the plantation of local and environmentally
