{"id":14712,"date":"2026-05-30T22:22:43","date_gmt":"2026-05-30T16:52:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/banitoday.com\/digiyatra-to-expand-to-27-more-airports-by-next-year-10-crore-journeys-completed\/"},"modified":"2026-05-30T22:22:43","modified_gmt":"2026-05-30T16:52:43","slug":"digiyatra-to-expand-to-27-more-airports-by-next-year-10-crore-journeys-completed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/banitoday.com\/hi\/digiyatra-to-expand-to-27-more-airports-by-next-year-10-crore-journeys-completed\/","title":{"rendered":"DigiYatra to expand to 27 more airports by next year, 10 crore journeys completed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-articlebody=\"1\"><video-embed value=\"false\"\/><\/p>\n<div class=\"ihgno clearfix  \">\n<div class=\"e9jwa\">\n<div class=\"vdo_embedd\">\n<div class=\"GfdvZ\">\n<section class=\"_bIDB  clearfix id-r-component leadmedia undefined undefined  E9tg9 \" style=\"top:0px\">\n<div class=\"_bIDB\" data-ua-type=\"1\" onclick=\"stpPgtnAndPrvntDefault(event)\">\n<div class=\"ypVvZ\">\n<div class=\"WGttI\"><img src=\"https:\/\/static.toiimg.com\/thumb\/msid-131412258,imgsize-725399,width-400,height-225,resizemode-4\/-.jpg\" alt=\"DigiYatra to expand to 27 more airports by next year, 10 crore journeys completed\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>DigiYatra, the facial recognition-based airport travel platform, will be rolled out at 27 more airports by next year, the civil aviation ministry said on Saturday, as it highlighted the initiative&#8217;s growing adoption across the country, PTI reported.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"2\"\/>DigiYatra, which enables contactless and seamless passenger movement at airports using Facial Recognition Technology (FRT), is currently available at 38 airports.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"4\"\/>In a statement, the ministry said the DigiYatra app has facilitated more than 10 crore seamless journeys and recorded over 2.4 crore downloads.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"6\"\/>&#8220;By replacing manual document verification, the platform has reduced average airport entry processing times from 15 seconds down to just 5 seconds per passenger,&#8221; it said.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"10\"\/>Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu said annual passenger traffic across Indian airports is projected to reach 50 crore by 2030 and nearly double to around 100 crore by 2040.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"12\"\/>&#8220;Right now, DigiYatra is active at 38 airports, and by next year, 27 more airports will be enabled,&#8221; he said.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"14\"\/>The minister added that the app currently supports 11 languages, and the aim is to add support for 11 more regional languages by the end of this year.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"16\"\/>The ministry also said passenger data shared through DigiYatra remains encrypted and is securely stored on the user&#8217;s device.
