NEW DELHI: Delhi Police<\/a> on Saturday returned 532 lost or stolen mobile phones to their rightful owners during a special handover programme organised under the ongoing \u201cOperation Vishwas\u201d initiative. The devices were recovered over the past three weeks and traced from different parts of Delhi as well as states including Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan.The Eastern Range-level programme was held at Maharaja Agrasen College in New Ashok Nagar, where recovered phones belonging to complainants from East, Shahdara and North-East districts were handed back. \u201cThe initiative reflects Delhi Police\u2019s focus on citizen-centric policing and the use of technology in tracing lost and stolen property,\u201d said Special CP (Law and Order) Devesh Chandra Srivastava, who also attended the event, along with Joint CP (Eastern Range) Ajit Kumar Singla. The event was attended by the DCPs of East, Shahdara and North-East districts and other senior officers. DCP (East) Rajeev Kumar said: \u201cOperation Vishwas is aimed at strengthening public trust by ensuring the recovery and restoration of citizens\u2019 lost property.\u201d Several beneficiaries shared their experiences and thanked police teams for tracing and returning their phones as a part of the event. Before the handover ceremony, police officials conducted cyber and drug awareness sessions, cautioning citizens against online frauds, digital arrest scams, fake investment schemes, OTP frauds and other cybercrimes. Residents were advised to promptly report cyber fraud incidents through the national helpline 1930.Police personnel from the three districts involved in the recovery drive were also felicitated for their efforts during the programme.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
