<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\nNew Delhi:<\/span> In a suspected hit-and-run case, a 40-year-old pedestrian was killed after being allegedly struck by a car in west Delhi\u2019s Rajouri Garden early on Friday. Police have arrested the accused driver, a Delhi University<\/a> BBA student, and said he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.According to police, information about a road accident on Ring Road, near Marble Market, from Rajouri Garden towards Mayapuri, was received around 3.40 am. When police reached the spot, they found an unidentified man, aged about 40, lying unconscious and unresponsive in the middle of the road. No identity documents were recovered from him.The crime team was called to inspect the scene, after which the victim was shifted to DDU Hospital by ambulance, where he was declared dead.Police said a breakthrough came after the PCR caller, identified as Gulshan, who had spotted the injured man on the road, informed them about a damaged vehicle parked around 250 metres ahead on the roadside. Acting on the information, police traced and seized the suspected offending vehicle, a golden-brown car.A case has been registered under sections 281 (rash driving on a public way) and 106(1) (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).During the investigation, police arrested the accused driver, identified as Daksh Maurya, a resident of Shalimar Bagh.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
