<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\nUPSC Chairman Ajay Kumar has acknowledged that the Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026 was \u201cquite tough and challenging\u201d for many aspirants, days after the Union Public Service Commission released the provisional answer key for the exam.In a LinkedIn post shared along with the answer key links, Kumar said the official provisional key was aimed at giving candidates \u201cmuch-needed clarity\u201d. He also revealed the sources used while preparing the answers.\u201cMost answers are based on standard textbooks, Government websites, Government press releases, and reputed newspapers \u2014 the core sources serious aspirants rely on,\u201d he wrote. <\/p>\n .<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n The post quickly gained attention among Civil Services aspirants, many of whom had described this year\u2019s prelims paper as lengthy, unpredictable and difficult.Also read: UPSC prelims 2026 exam analysis- Experts call GS paper unconventional, difficult and highly unpredictable; suggest lower cutoff<\/a>The UPSC chairman also said the objection process helps maintain \u201ctransparency and fairness\u201d in the examination system. Candidates who appeared for CSE 2026 can submit their representations challenging the answer key, till 6 pm on May 31, through the dedicated \u2018Question Paper Representation Portal (QPRep)\u2019 available at upsconline.nic.in.All representations received from candidates will be placed before teams of subject experts for a comprehensive and meticulous review.The final answer key will be released only after the declaration of the final result.
