Eight of those have already passed, while seven more closures remain after the Bakri Id break.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"7\"\/>The next trading holiday after May 28 will be on June 26 for Muharram.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"9\"\/>Markets will also remain shut later this year on:<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"11\"\/><\/p>\n<div class=\"cdatainfo modify_cdata_list_style id-r-component \" data-pos=\"12\">\n<ul>\n<li>September 14 for Ganesh Chaturthi<\/li>\n<li>October 2 for Gandhi Jayanti<\/li>\n<li>October 20 for Dussehra<\/li>\n<li>November 10 for Diwali Balipratipada<\/li>\n<li>November 24 for Guru Nanak Jayanti<\/li>\n<li>December 25 for Christmas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"13\"\/>Christmas will mark the final stock market holiday of 2026.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"17\"\/>Commodity markets will see a different schedule. The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will stay closed during the morning session on May 28 but resume operations in the evening session.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"19\"\/>The National Commodity &amp; Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), however, will remain shut for both sessions.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"21\"\/>Four scheduled holidays in 2026 fall on weekends and therefore will not result in additional market closures. These include Mahashivratri on February 15, Eid-Ul-Fitr on March 21, Independence Day on August 15 and Diwali Laxmi Pujan on November 8.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"23\"\/>Although Diwali Laxmi Pujan falls on a Sunday this year, exchanges will still conduct the customary Muhurat Trading session on November 8.
