Ryan Reynolds<\/a> says he is not rushing back into more Deadpool content, even after the huge success of \u2018Deadpool & Wolverine\u2019 in 2024. The actor, who helped turn the Merc with a Mouth into one of the most popular superhero characters on screen, said he has written ideas he likes but does not want to move too fast. His comments come as fans continue to wonder whether Deadpool will appear in \u2018Avengers: Doomsday,\u2019 which is less than eight months away from release.<\/p>\n

Deadpool\u2019s MCU future remains unclear<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

Collider reported the update after Steve Weintraub spoke with Reynolds while discussing Season 5 of FX\u2019s docuseries \u2018Welcome to Wrexham,\u2019 which arrives on May 14. During the interview, Weintraub asked Reynolds if he could share anything new about Deadpool\u2019s future.Reynolds confirmed that he has been writing, but he made it clear that no immediate return is locked in. \u201cI have a few things written that I love. I don\u2019t know. We\u2019ll figure out when the time is right. I\u2019m not in any huge rush right now to do anything,\u201d he told Collider.The actor also explained why he does not want to flood audiences with new Deadpool projects. \u201cDeadpool works best on both scarcity and surprise, so jumping right back into it full on right now is probably something I\u2019m not going to do,\u201d Reynolds said.<\/p>\n

Reynolds also praised Marvel and its leadership while speaking about his experience with the studio. \u201cI gotta say, that Marvel team, those guys have been incredible, all of them, and I\u2019m really, really lucky to have the opportunity to work with them the way I have, as intimately as I have,\u201d he said.Reynolds first played a version of Wade Wilson in \u2018X-Men Origins: Wolverine.\u2019 The role changed his career in 2016 when \u2018Deadpool\u2019 gave him the chance to play a more faithful version of the character. The film became a major hit and helped make Deadpool a global superhero name.His latest outing, \u2018Deadpool & Wolverine,\u2019 grossed over USD 1.3 billion worldwide and became the highest-grossing R-rated movie ever.
