In that clip, she claims, Tyler Robinson’s grandfather can be heard saying he does not believe his grandson is the killer. This matters because there have been ongoing questions about whether Tyler Robinson had any family support. Candace Owens said many people believed his family had stepped away from him. But according to her, this clip tells a different story. She also said someone from inside the courthouse reached out to her. This person, she claimed, recorded a conversation between the grandfather and a reporter named Elizabeth Lane. Candace Owens added that she later spoke to Elizabeth Lane herself and informed her that she had the recording and planned to use it. Before playing the clip, Candace Owens pointed out something important. She said the grandfather being present at court itself shows support. In the audio, the grandfather is heard saying, “We are here to support him.” Based on this, Owens suggested that the family may not believe Tyler Robinson is guilty.

She said the gun was originally owned by Tyler Robinson’s grandfather and described it as a family item passed down over time. According to Fox 13 News, the weapon has been identified as a Mauser Model 98 .30-06 bolt-action rifle. Authorities believe this type of rifle has a long history and may have been used during the World Wars.Reports say the rifle may have been made in Germany and could date back to a time before strict gun tracking rules were introduced in the United States. After the assassination of John F. Kennedy, firearms were required to have serial numbers. Because this rifle may not have one, investigators believe it could be very hard to trace.Police also shared a message that Tyler Robinson allegedly sent to his roommate. In that message, he wrote, “I’m worried what my old man would do if I don’t bring back Grandpa’s rifle… IDK if it has a serial number, but it wouldn’t trace to me. I’m worried about prints; I had to leave it in a bush where I changed outfits, didn’t have the ability or time to take it with.”Meanwhile, Scott Sweetow, who earlier worked with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, spoke to NBC News. He said, “Short of the security afforded to the president, there’s no way to defend against the threat posed by this.”Reports from The New York Post say rifles like the Mauser 98 have been sold at gun shows, pawn shops, and firearm stores over the years.
