Weather tomorrow: IMD warns of heavy to very heavy rain in several states; intense showers likely over MP, north India
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Vidarbha and west Uttar Pradesh.

NEW DELHI: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to continue across several parts of the country on Wednesday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing rain warnings for parts of north, central, northeast and southern India.Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are also expected in several regions, while widespread monsoon activity is likely to persist across much of the country.

IMD alert for Wednesday

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Vidarbha and west Uttar Pradesh.Heavy rainfall is also likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, interior Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, Goa, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Telangana, West Bengal, Sikkim and east Rajasthan.Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are likely over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Odisha.Similar conditions are also expected over Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Uttarakhand.

Delhi-NCR weather tomorrow

Delhi and adjoining areas are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall.The IMD has also forecast thunderstorms and lightning, with spells of intense rain likely to affect normal life in some areas.

North India forecast

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and west Uttar Pradesh.Heavy rainfall is also expected over Jammu and Kashmir and east Uttar Pradesh, while thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely over Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir.

East and central India forecast

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha.Heavy rainfall is also forecast over Bihar, Chhattisgarh and east Rajasthan, while thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are expected over Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.

Northeast under rain watch

Heavy rainfall is likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim.Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also expected across parts of the region.

West and south India forecast

Konkan, Goa, Kerala, Mahe, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and interior Karnataka are likely to receive heavy rainfall.Heavy rainfall is also expected over Gujarat, while thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds are likely over Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

IMD’s latest forecast for the next few days

The weather office has forecast widespread rainfall activity over large parts of northwest, central, eastern and southern India through August 3.Heavy rainfall is expected to continue over several states over the next three to four days, with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall likely across parts of north, central and western India as the monsoon remains active.
